HESSONITE GARNET GEMSTONES
Hessonite is a variety of grossular garnet, Ca3Al2Si3Ol2. It is found in various shades of brown and orange. Gem quality hessonite garnet is being mined in Sri Lanka, California, Quebec and Brazil. Hessonite has a refractive index of 1.73 - 1.75 and a hardness of 6.5 to 7.0 on the mohs scale. The crystal system is isometric. We have the following hessonite garnet in stock at this time:
